Did you know that we at Horry County have a facebook page for our organization?

Do you know how to set up a twitter account and get involved in the post there?

Do you have a facebook account or even know how to set one up and find friends on that site?

Do you participate in social networking sites mentioned above and additional sites such as Digg, Linkedin, and/or messaging services?

If you answer no to any one of the above questions, then you need education to help grow our party in Horry County.

Upon being voted as Vice Chairman, I dedicate myself to:

  1. Upgrading the website
  2. Filling the standing committees required by our bylaws – even if this is a committee of one
  3. Holding monthly EC (Executive Committeeperson) meetings.
  4. Setting up a County Party Newsletter to keep our membership in touch with the leadership team.
  5. Holding our County EC accountable to our EC leadership team (Precinct).
  6. Holding our Chairperson accountable to our EC leadership team (Precinct).
  7. Holding our elected servants accountable to our party platform, and if they continue to ignore that platform to finding and funding a replacement in March 2012.
  8. Working with the Chairperson – to grow our demographics and membership to be truly representative to our county.
  9. Continue to grow – via the youth leadership – the involvement of our College Republicans at Coastal Carolina University.
  10. Continue to be held accountable for my actions in regards to our Republican Party and the stated platform agreed upon by our citizens.

Tools:

There are tools out there to assist us as a group to promote our message, causes, and expansion of membership that currently are being under utilized in Horry County. It is my goal to stop this weakness if allowed to be your Vice Chair. Our youth vote is one of most important votes, imho (in my humble opinion), moving forward as a party. We can not expect a technological savvy group to look upon our antiquated techniques of communication and rally behind it. Therefore, we need a partner to take up the mantle of technology to move us into the 21st century.

This teamwork has helped to grow our membership at the Carolina Patriots, Campaign for Liberty, and TEA Party Patriots; all groups I have close ties to over the last couple of years. We can bring this same tools to our county with a team dedicated to providing this service, education and efforts to our Party’s efforts. We can do this folks we just need you to decide if the “status quo” is okay with you or if the future is where we need to be as a party.

Ease of use:

We need to set up a newsletter that members can join and participate in to keep everyone in touch with each other.

Our county is a complex mix of municipal concerns, tourism concerns, rural concerns, farming concerns, and various other concerns and how we as a party address those concerns directly reflects on the leadership core. We have got to provide, as a party, the basis of communication channels that have not been present since I have been a member or we will continue to disenfranchise citizens in their involvement.

Mistakes will happen:

The party leadership team will make mistakes from time to time because we are human. This is no reason to lash out and condemn our team of volunteers because of issues that may come up over the term of their office. The infighting and unfounded lies must stop because it hurts us as a group in general.

I like Reagan’s 11th commandment too that no one should speak evil of a Republican; however, I don’t think he went far enough into the bible to see that when a member strays from the church (aka group principles) that member should be approached in private. However, when that member still continues to stray from the principles they should be publicly rebutted for their actions, thus be held accountable for their actions to ignore our state platform.

If I make a mistake – I willing stand up and state “I made a mistake.” I do not attempt to “bend” the actions to further my cause at the time. It is not my character to “dazzle them with brilliance and baffle you with BS”. I learned far too long ago in my life that the truth will set you free, and if I make mistakes or have no clue – it is far better to state that at the time then try to hide my faults.

Citizen Actions:

Our standing committees are where we the people step up to hold our party’s elected officials accountable to our platform.

For far too long we as a party have repetitively sent back to Columbia servants that fail to get passing grades by various conservative groups that track the voting patterns of our public servants. We can not continue this pattern and ever expect folks to trust our leadership at the precinct elected positions we ignore these voting patterns. We have been put into leadership roles to assure party adherence.

There are quite a few tools at our disposal to analyze and decide with executive review if an incumbent has stayed with our platform or strayed from our platform. If an incumbent has strayed from our platform then we need to as a party find someone that will stand up and speak for us; otherwise, we have failed as a group of informed citizens to adhere to our Constitutional responsibilities in our voting process.
