Most folks look forward to the weekend (as the old song cries out), but of late I tend to dread them. It once was a restful time to do my yardwork, get the floors mopped, the laundry done and work out the plan for the coming week to weeks. Now a days, it’s much more of a chore that the good Lord has given us (Aimee and I) to bear with taking care of all the aforementioned items, but now we have to care for our parents too.

The heat is oppressive in the South during this time of the year. It will drain you of all your strength in minutes without plenty of cool water and some bit of shade. Hence, the mowing of the yards was limited to only ours and Kim’s yard (the neighbor directly behind us). She’s got some issues, but loves God and needs the assist. *wink* After the mowing was done, me and the pets sat in the shed with a fan blowing on us and enjoyed a couple of “cold ones” next to the Coke machine I’ve named “Timmy” since it was the inheritance I got from his passing. It runs well, but doesn’t cool very good at this point. I’ma get it restored “one day,” yet another project in a long list of items I want to be working on.
I will skip the gory details of the crap and piss battle that is never ending in our home at this point. We had to fix the bed not once, not twice, not three times but four. Hence the reason I purchased three sets of protective mattress fitted sheets for just this sort of fiasco.

Sunday when we went out for pet food and more puppy pads at Petco, Aimee and I took the time away to actually enjoy a bit of respite from the disheartening drama that is at our home currently.
We treated ourselves to burgers, fries, onion rings and Aimee got a huge ice cream cone at The Freeze Restaurant in Conway, South Carolina. It’s a local icon that is family owned and has very good food, in our humble opinion. The reviews on facepaint are horrible and don’t reflect my experience with the place at all; just a bunch of keyboard warriors attacking imho. Then on the route home, I turned off the highway 701 onto the original road to Red Hill so we could visit the park.

Just look at that face. She’s saying it all. “Get me the *&%^ out of here.” LOL
Oh well, until next time. God bless
